I have never been a “gym person.” I absolutely hate exercising. However, after suffering from significant back pain, I knew that I needed to build a habit of exercise in order to decrease pain and keep up with my active husband and two young boys. One year later with One on One, and I cannot believe the difference it has made in my life.
Upon moving to State College last year, I began my fitness journey working directly with a One on One personal trainer. As soon as I walked in, the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. It felt like home. I was amazed at how individualized my program was. Having severe scoliosis and a herniated disc, I was very anxious about keeping my back safe. Today that fear has disappeared. My trainers are always ready to adapt my workout to any health issue I have on a given day. Now if I have back aches at work, I feel completely reassured that my trainer will be able to help during our next session.

Soon after starting personal training sessions, I began to explore other services One on One has to offer. I attended a presentation and met individually with One on One’s registered dietitian who helped me come up with a nutrition plan tailored to my needs. I also became involved with small group training, which has been extremely beneficial because it offers the same accountability and intensity as a personal fitness session while allowing more schedule flexibility. Most recently, I have tried One on One’s virtual training. When faced with the idea of being stuck at home, I was nervous about how I would maintain all the progress I’ve made. I am so grateful that One on One offers virtual training sessions and was surprised at the intensity my trainer was able to get from me without any equipment!
I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful my experience at One on One has been. Never in a million years did I think I would voluntarily wake up at 5:30am for a 6am session, much less look forward to it! My aches & back pain have significantly improved, I no longer fear exercise, and this is the longest I have ever stuck with a fitness routine.
